Creator Chandrashekhar Chawan tried his offer at gold-dust contact lenses, but they require the “sparkle effect” he was looking for. He found his motivation, oddly, through cosmetic dentistry: Chawan’s wife had diamonds fix on her teeth at her last dentist visit, and he understands that people loved jewels anywhere and everywhere.

“I got mixed responses — some said its looks scary, but most of the people loved it,” said Chawan in a TODAY.com meeting. “Bollywood personalities loved the model, that it’s going to be ‘in thing’ in fashion soon.

“Look at Lady Gaga and her followers,” Chawan added. “People take time to absorb [new fashion], until some celebrity starts using it.”

Chawan claims its “only matter of time” before his making is a hit, but the public may disagree. Internet critics called the product everything from cringeworthy to “freaky ugly” to total demonic-looking. “It’s as if someone saw the Swarovski crystal contacts and thought those weren’t expensively dumb enough” wrote tech site Gizmodo.

Google refreshes Gmail for mobile



Internet search giant Google has refreshed the mobile side of its trendy Gmail.

The latest additions to the Gmail for mobile contains 'pull down to refresh' attribute. This means users can now pull down to refresh their note list and conversation on all iOS and Playbook devices. To refresh, users require touching the message list, drag downwards and release.

For users using Gmail for mobile on an iPhone 4 Retina display, the icons and graphics are now at a superior resolution.

Google has also added a new screen change feature that according to the company blog, when a user taps on a conversation, taps back to the inbox, or goes to the menu or back, the view will slide left or right.
